The man behind the universe

Sander Lylloff — known to this world as Sandman. A life spent at the board, at the table and on the road, now gathered into one place.

World Backgammon Champion Poker champion Chess mind Entrepreneur Writer Traveller

I have spent my life inside games of skill and chance — the backgammon board, the poker table, the chessboard, the markets. They taught me how to think under pressure, how to live with luck, and how to keep my nerve when everything is on the line. From world championship backgammon to the long nights of poker, the same lessons keep returning: stay honest, stay calm, and respect the dice.

Sandman for the dreams and the long night hours; Lyra for the harp in the stars. A character, yes — but a true one.

But a gambler is not all I am. I am also a builder and a writer. I am building real businesses — prediction markets, backgammon platforms, brands — and I am writing my way through the world: essays, journals, stories and the philosophy that holds it all together. Slowly, all of it is becoming one thing: the Sandman Lyra universe.

What I am trying to do

Strip away the myth and it is simple. I am a man trying to live truthfully, create beauty, build things, and do some good where I can. Not a guru, not a brand on a billboard — a real person, with wins and losses, trying to make a life that means something and leave something worth keeping.

Why this place exists

For years my work and thoughts were scattered — across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, notes and a dozen platforms that were never truly mine. This universe is the answer: one roof, one archive, one home. A place to upload a whole life — the games, the markets, the words, the travels and the transformation — so it can be followed, understood, and protected.

Where it’s going

It begins simply, and it grows. The Library will fill with writing. The Media room will fill with film. The businesses will grow up in public. And the journal will keep the honest record of a life in motion. This is your space to tell the full story in your own words — the dates, the titles, the turning points. Send them and I’ll set them here.
